Kinda hope we win this game 1-0 in a goaltenders duel. It would be sad to chase Fleury.

Flower still has to prove his mettle in Vegas, considering they've kept winning without him for two months of games.

Of course I'm rooting for the Pens, so I'm hoping for a 1-0 or 2-1 game. Regardless of how much we all love Flower, the Pens need to start winning on a regular basis.

I would have no problem watching Fleury take one against Pitt. Maybe it would be a blessing. Maybe it helps management with their shakeup woes

Agreed on Sprong. You know who else isn't a 2 way player? Kessel. And he is still a fantastic hockey player. Get the kid up and give him a shot at it.

Just revisiting my comment 2 days ago about the teams speed, pressure & skill. Buchnevich goal yesterday for the Rags - taking a pass on the move & 1 timing for the goal. How many of the Pens outside Geno, Sid, Kessel (although I have my doubts Kessel could do that), & Guentzy could do that?

I do believe we need a couple top 9 guys with fire to their game to jumpstart this team. We need to wake up.

I'm fine with giving Sprong a look, but I don't think the comparison with Kessel is accurate.

I heard them talking about Sprong on the radio the other day saying he struggles defensively with his awareness. He gets lost and confused in certain situations. I only saw him in one game in the preseason, but that was exactly what I saw.

I think Kessel has been tremendous in all 3 zones this season.

To be fair to Aussie, he didn't say shoot on the move. He said one time on the move, and Kessel definitely has an average to mediocre one timer. There's no question that he can get off a wrister in full motion and be lethal with it.

Hags and Cole for RNH isn't really fair to EDM (I don't think Hags has much value anymore.), but Cole and Sheary seems a little more even, but Chia is dumb, so there's that.

There is no difference between the goal Buchnevich scored last night and the goal at 4:50 vs. Detroit. It's the exact same goal.

Ok Buchnevich wasn't in full motion. I thought Aussie was talking about like at top flight skating not gliding.

It would be tough to lose Sheary at such a good cap hit, but I think I make that trade and hope that Hagelin invigorates himself and Simon preforms. You probably go:

Guentzel-Crosby-Hornqvist
Hagelin-Malkin-Kessel
Simon-RNH-Rust
Dumpsterfire-Sheahan-Dumpsterfire

Reaves is a large albatross around the teams neck. I’d give Sprong a try. What do we have to lose?

Ha ha. Nice....and so true.

I like what I've seen from Simon. He doesn't look out of place at all. Would love to see one of the "dumpsterfire's" replaced with Archie.

Did you see the goal I'm talking about. Don't have time to watch 18 min but 2 goals I saw aren't what Buchnevich did yesterday.

Apples for apples. Your comparing pears to an apple from what I saw.

Buch was moving pretty quick. I'll watch what Boyd has put in tonite but I haven't seen too many Pens able to score like Buch did. In fact we had 2 that missed against the Avs.

Eh. He was gliding and had a wide open net. Its a good goal but pretty much any NHL capable player can bucket that. Doesn't mean that its not a good goal or that players won't occasionally whiff, but I've seen Kuhnhackl score like that too, and he's not exactly super impressive.

He's not gliding quite as fast, but same general concept.

EDIT: Actually they're gliding at close to the same speed, its just that Kuhnhackl had been set for longer which makes him look a lot slower.

If you're referring to the cross body one timer/redirection that he scored last night, Kessel did that in Dec vs. Detroit last year at 4:50 of the video I posted, the goals are exactly the same.
